Highlights: Single Kayak - gorgeous day. Wonderful rock formation off of granite beaches. Seals!

Pamunkey

Where: Off 301- drive up to the easy put in on the Pamunkey River
When: October 9,  2011
Who: Barbara and Jen
Highlights: After Hurricane Irene we initially wanted to go to Aylett however the putin was completely washed out. Plan B was to try out the Pamunkey and we were very glad we did. The river was so high that we were paddling at "tree level". Barbara and I snacked by a rope swing. A great time - especially the way back - effortless!

Mataponi River

Highlights:  Fun adventure and easy easy put in.  We saw cottages, houses on hills, eroded cliff's with falling staircases.  It was windy and so so flat.   Saw people enjoying the quiet spot - only a few fishing boats. 

Elba - the Little Spot

Highlights: Check out the picture - so amazing to think that the little spot seen from Carolyn's balcony in Poggio was where we kayaked. Snokelers, schools of fish JUMPING and the BIG SWELLS... We Love Elba! Charlie's amazing picture shows how amazing this kayak was...and even better - he documented the adventure.

Unforgettable 4th of July

Highlights: After an incredible party at the Mecagni's we ventured to Fletcher's boat house.  The picture says it all...Night kayaking was a challenge. We survived!

Mother's Day Anniversary Adventure

Where:  West Point
Highlights:  B&I did big waves - FUN choppy plunge from West Point (cute town with it's own little beach).  We went  on to see the lumber mill and wild terrain that surrounds it.  Lots of seagulls.  We kayaked to where the Mattaponi and the York meet.    After all of this - a great dinner at a cute place in downtown West Point.  I remember thinking that this place had cool pictures of the town when the mill was being built.
